Healthy hair

Hair is a personal and unique creation that tells you about people and how they view themselves. It shapes identity. However, according to a global survey by health and wellness chain Bon Appetit, American women are now embracing health hair in a very big way, with 59% of them saying they are planning to get better hair care (per November 2016).

This will actually be a change of trend with only 7% of women never getting better at it. Out of those who do get better, a bigger number will change their treatment methods. So, they’ll now be getting dietitian hair with healthy staples instead of relying on hair dye removers and clippings.

While that’s a good thing, many wig trends that we have seen in the past have been very misguided—way too bright and sort of sexy, not clean and natural, and not of average tone. Below is a list of that, with extra fitting snippets from Bon Appetit editor in chief Alanna Dylonko on how to look clean and beautiful.

When health hair is done right, it becomes a very natural part of your identity that has that transformative value. If you’re a ponytail or spiky-haired individual or you wear your hair flat, there are no trends that can replace the idea of being a healthy individual. Of course, we do fall into trends, we just want to keep up.

Whether you decide to add more color to your hair or move it down slightly, you may notice that naturalistic styling actually looks great on your head. While summer has become known for slicking your hair back, winter is more so for a flat bun or ponytail. The naturalistic look and placement of your hair on your head will have a major impact on your mood. Most importantly, it makes you feel sexy.

However, if you’re unsure how to proceed, it’s a good time to begin a list of essentials that you will need:

1. Pure and lovely oil products

2. Straighteners

3. Dry shampoo

4. A gentle hair wash (in the water, which is good for the scalp)

5. Hair tools (head and tail bristle and or straightening tools)

6. Wash your hair straightened up

7. Straighteners

Some tips to help you with products:

Using only one shampoo will bring down the chance of getting any bacterial contamination in your hair.

Consider using hair conditioner specifically for your scalp. It’s best to use conditioner which contains added moisture from Nature’s Path brand.

Don’t use straighteners as you must always wash your hair every day; it will help clean your hair and be more resistant to botox and chemical relaxers. A brushing and blowout routine needs to be in order as well to help your hair become healthier.

Using a straightener on your hair is worth the risk of getting any problems with your hair from the chemicals.

Procedures

Below is a list of how to do clean and safe hair with natural tools and products:

Use a volumizing hair mousse. Hair tend to resemble flat, fat masses when blown out, so that’s why there’s such a demand for a volumizing mousse. If you’re already straightener-less, use one that also has some moisture added to the mix and use it regularly to make hair lustrous. Start before your final blowout. You can even use this before your blowout too.

Use one or more hair dryers such as Perfect Sand, or even a hair mousse, such as Wet & Smooth’s hair mask in cold water. Before you rinse your hair, work some additional volume and conditioner into the hair.

Roll your hair up on the top of your head and into a ponytail. This will take away all the weight, which should help reduce flyaways. Once you’ve tied the ends to your scalp, you can flaunt your natural roots.

Now take your head or scalp out and wash it. Start with your hair straightened up. Apply your healthy conditioner and leave it on for a few minutes to create body. In the driest parts of your hair, scalp hydration is key to maintaining the product’s duration.

Wrap your hair in a ponytail if it’s high on wind—this way you won’t be so open to gritty styling.

Cover your exposed scalp in a cool water mist and gently massage your scalp by holding on to it in the mousse. Make sure your scalp is moist while taking care to cover your hair from any unwanted debris or mist. Rinse your hair easily
